It was such a nice day outside today, so decided to call a friend to race him. Everyone says that itll be a close race and all that bla bla bla, so i called him and we met up and raced. I drive a 98 jdm integra with a gsr swap (semi built) and he drives a i believe 2000 Integra gsr w/b16 head(semi built) with a greddy turbo kit. Both races were very close, 1st race he wins by a car, second race i win by 1/2 a car.Fcukin traction was a fuckin issue for me. You can hear it for yourself in the videos haha, i hit redline about 3-4 times at the start, fuckin trying to feather it and shit but itll juss bounce right back up to 10k....well here are the vids, enjoy........

i can verify that it is 5 because i rode in the car and wanted to turn up the boost awile back and the boost controller is broken so it is stuck set on 5
haha guess what i seen you guys race! i was in my jeep coming back from the jordan creek mall.
anyways that black gsr has a b16 block and gsr head, but the whole engine is fully built! and when i first seen it when Thylee had it, it did have a Greddy turbo kit, but Mike and Anthony told me it said mistubishi on it, as if the kit was replaced by a home made one. soooo umm... iono well anyways should've of raced it when Thylee brought it home, it was alot faster. because well, imho if it was done right, Dat would of lost both times by alot.
has anyone seen Thylee's new EK Hatch, real nice!
i seen Jimmy driving his car too, did he race anyone?

yeah i noticed quite a rise in DC5 population recently. their is an 06 white DC5 at DMACC, 2 Black 02-04 DC5's one is all riced out, and the other is stock. Then thier is my Neighbor, and then my other neighbor up the street has a blue riced out 03 DC5. then thier is Anthony on here, and RSXtype-r's Silver DC5. The silver Turbo'd 02-04 DC5, a slammed Maroon 02-04 DC5(but im still lower!:teeth: ) and Martha's old 02-04 DC5. a buddy of mine's Black A-Spec 02-04 DC5....ummm....then mostly the rest are DD by old folk's ranging from 02-04 to 05-06! i guess there are quite a few modded DC5's around here.:cheers:
i can only think of a handful of DC2's and DC4's that look fresh. ummm....Well Mine lol! and Yo's, Dat's Tony's, i'll admit Ricky's was looking nice until FUCKING THIEVES! and Dexter's, Racin Jasin R's, Jimmy's would look nice if he got a real type r lip, Jan Jan's Type R lol, that's all that come to mind really. unless im forgeting some. oh ill add Chad Gates's DB8 in the mix, it's lookin ill with that JDM Front, oh and Perry's DB8 also.

There is one really nice looking Blue DC5 here in Ames as well as a Marroonish brown Turbo charged one. There is also a Blue one in Ames that is turbocharged as well.
I've scene some non modded ones as well.

ok let me clear somethign up on the turbo. Greddy sells mitsubishi turbos in there kits. it is the greddy kit that Thylee had.
he told me he was running 4-5 lbs of boost. which is decent for a fresh set up. or at leat he told me the build was fresh.
good races, i like it. there are to many fucking integras around here tho. im glade the lude is almost complete, but inline four sent me bad vavle guides.

yeah i thought Greddy uses the housing of mistu turbo's but i wasnt sure, but anyways...the build isnt that fresh. the person who bought it got ripped off big time. Thylee bought it for 3,000, and sold it for like 11,000! and it has a b16 block which imho is the stupidest thing you can do and run a gsr head on it. it should be the other way around.

im pretty damn sure it is just a full b16 swap , i say get a b20 sleeved and some nice forged pistons and rods and call it a day .

damn a full b16 swap, lol! so he went from a Green DX coupe, to a b16 SI coupe, and then swapped it with an H22, and now he is back with a b16 integra. i would of just boosted the b16 coupe in the first place! it would of been fast as hell by now!
so does he have the b16 tranny or gsr tranny? becuase if he has the b16 tranny no wonder he is losing, he is going through gears so fast, that the turbo has no time to spool up, and make its maximum power. well that is if he has a b16 tranny, especially on the actual b16 motor, since the redline is so low.
i wonder who fitted the type r manifold on the head, i wanna shake their hand. doing that is a bitch, thats why all the company's just make replica's that fit better.
is it tuned? once he gets it tuned, it will be a whole different story, it should be real fast then.
another question is the boost controller a manual boost controller, how do you break a manual boost controller, you know those things are like 5 dollars seriously! fix it and lets see how much PSI that thing can handle!
how is the A/C working in it?

ouch! an ls tranny, damn that will seriously bog down that motor, that tranny is one of the longest and the b16 is one of the higher reving motors in the b series family, i would go with a gsr tranny to even the motors revibility and the turbo spool.

it is a b16 tranny , he goes through gears like crazy when i race him and hes damn near 1/2 thru 4th when im still have hella 3rd left, and i KNOW i have a LS trans .
Matt-why do you want to shake the guys hand that put a type r intake manifold on a b16 head? its easy you just bolt it right up. GSR heads are diffrent,i am a proud owner of a replaca:tongue:
BTW-short gears are always better no matter what setup, the only reason people get longer geard trannys is to help traction issues.

poeple take gears out, leave them out, change ratios, go with longer gears and for what??
Well it all comes down to what the car is built for.
Certain gearings help on certain road race tracks.
Certain gearings help acheive maximum boost at all times
longer gears, higher TOP speed
If you are street racing a supra or RX7 you are not going to want a Type R B16 tranny.. .
Gears are adjusted to make certain 1/4 mile trap speeds

haha well 2point , i was talking more about drag racing not road racing , honda power bands are higher there fore you you want the short geared tranny to wrap out faster and also stay in your power band, a short geard tranny for n/a is a must boost i would personally still want a short geard tranny, plus longer gears are harder on your motor.
