haha, honda to the top!
All stock cars on stock issue tires with pro drivers.
The times they put down are like 14 seconds slower than Time Attack Cars on the same track. Time attack as in SUPER Cars
BTW I was 10 seconds slower than a 350 whp Evo9 and Sti and almost stock E46 SMG M3 with R compound on Mid American Motorplex track 1:54 to their best lap at 1:44 my first time on the track.
I was not on R-compund and don't have a LSD.
Time attacks look fun as hell. I plan on doing some after I have a roll cage and new coilovers.

nope! I suck at life!!
I'm saving at this time but I still party :spoiled:
My hobby is a lil expensive for my life goals at this time. I will hit the RR tracks at least once before the year is over. I thought I was going to get on the track 4-5 times this year but umm well I got a little carried away spending money on parts.. . Shit happens.
I don't even think I am going back to the track with R compounds. It will most likely be a 225/45/15 Hankook RS2 tire on my 15x7.5s that are chillin in my closet.. . I might regret not getting R compounds but I kinda wanna sell my 16s and get another set of 15s so drivin around on the streets of Iowa on R compounds is not really an option.
I'd love to get some 225/50/15 A048 tires but I aint that big of baller right now unfortunetely:sad:

Dang, your car should be flyin out there what kind of speeds are you seeing? LSD shouldn't be THAT big of an issue, not too many tight turns really, just the final turn onto the front straight is where you're probably losing time.
In my under-powered Miata I think I was running 1:50's out there, and getting walked by all the other Miatas on the straights... it was depressing.
In our old '99 FRC I think I ran 1:44's out there with the Corvette club format... (go out the opposite way onto the track from pit-in, make a hard left, and hit the gas... our timing lights were set up mid way down the straight adjacent to the pits). I think I could go quite a bit lower with the Z, but then again maybe I'll wait and buy a car that can do even better than that!
It sucked pretty bad last year when I'd be balls to the wall in the miata down the front straight, and the ITE Porsches would go flying past like I was standing still. I mean I wanted to just park the car. They were running lap times consitently in the 1:40-1:42 range, with ease. They didn't even look like they were working hard.
2-point, when do you think you'll have the car ready for HC? What a fun class! Three years ago I almost bought an H1 car, but for some reason I thought SM was more competitive... until I bought a car with a motor dynoing less than 100 hp.
Next HPDE you're planning on hitting up, send me a PM. I'm sure I can find a car to run!

Sweet experience man! I'd love to run SM just b/c there is a ton of competition around the Midwest. NASA HC is not the way to roll out here in the MW right now but hopefully it will get more attraction soon. I started building my car thinkin I was going to be H1 on the East Coast but I changed jobs. For SCCA my car is ITE, ha, not where I'm going to succeed at all without like an extra 100hp :roflmao:
Slow driver is my car's problem. I'm sure that if someone with experience and new that track, my car would be posting high to mid 1:40s probably even on street tires. I didn't have an instructor the day I went to MAM so I had to pick up the line by myself and it was a bit tough with NO RUN GROUP assignments, race cars and what not blowin my doors off.. . it was open track, no grids, just run your heart out.. .
I should of asked someone to run with me for a session at first.. .
Speeds, I can't really remember but I know that I can keep up with STIs, Evos, and some corvettes on the long straight  I'm pretty sure I was over 120mph few times on the long straight before I cooked my brakes.
I used up my brakes in my 2nd session of the day. I cooked my Carbotech XP8s and I got some bad brake vibration. When I went out for my 3rd and last session, I had a descent line by following some slower cars but my brakes were driving me nuts so I took it kinda slow on the longer straights.. .
I have larger brakes and better pads on the front now. I shouldn't cook them again at MAM at least.. . I think no cool down laps is what killed me actually.
At Heartland Park I can run 2:06-8 if that means anything to you.. .
I'll let you know when I plan on hittin the track next. August 11th at MAM or HPT is looking nice for me.. . Then maybe Labor day weekend if I'm in town at MAM for a SCCA PDX.
later
