Why would you give someone money for a car and not expect the title up front?

i dont need a a lecture about what i did wrong, obviously trusted the wrong guy. I want to know if anyone knows him name, address or any info on this guy. Already talked to my lawyer and he broke the law by doing that i just want to get ahold of him and try and get it taken care of before i get my lawyer involved.

You don't have a first name do you? His account shows he's from Cedar Rapids and works or at least used to work at Dave Wright Nissan Subaru. If you have his first name I don't think it would be all that hard to find him at this point. Just call the dealership and ask for him, then if they say he still works there you'll know exactly where to find him. If he doesn't work there then you might be able to get a last name from them by chance and you can contact the police if needed. Or of course you could just contact the police and use the vin of the car to find him.

also, just a thought, since you didnt get the title when you purchased the car, i would carfax it and see who the last owner of the vehicle was and then try to conact them, maybe the dude you bought the car from didnt have the right to sell it ya know, which is why you dont have the title yet.
