You can use an impact wrench since itll be quicker or a modified wrench that can fit into it....while you hold it with an allen wrench on center (or vise grips if your shock has no allen hole). Most of the time the easiest way to going about with this install is bringing it in to my shop if you happen to live local. Takes but a few seconds to take it out (while shock is compressed) and putting the new in....plus it is safer too, you don't want that top hat shooting at your face in a fraction of a second...lol hurts pretty good!! ha ha
