Today I drove 1020 miles to get my new Civic. Trailered from Des Moines, IA to Indianapolis, IN (510 miles each way).

It's a blue 1986 Honda Civic Wagovan 4WD bought from 91civicsi. Hope to restore it to fully stock condition with the following mods:

1) White exterior color, with blue/burgandy interior (current blue/gray interior is trashed ).
2) Coil-spring lift kit on front struts to give it more stiffness and a couple inches lift.
3) Rear air-shocks for same reason.
4) Once lifted, put on larger wheels. Nothing flashy, just for a smoother ride.
5) Modify intake to simplify vacuum lines.
6) Add cruise control.

Most of the body is in good shape. Passenger side tail light is busted. Needs a clutch. Everything I tested on it worked though. Just needs cleaned, and maybe a new switch knob or whatever.

Looking forward to this project!

Okay, starting build thread. Do I just start one under honda CRX Civic/Del Sol?

For now, know I got it off the trailer today. It started first try. Has vacuum leaks common to 84-87 civics, but runs well above 2K rpm. It died once it reached warm temperature and one of the temperature vacuum switches engaged.

For the build thread, how do I post pics? I'll keep them up to date as I go through stages.

You'll want to do the build thread in Appearance/Cosmetic
http://www.jdmcity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13

And for posting picks up, you can use photobucket or flickr.

Well, not really today but a few weeks ago...

Got a 96 Civic DX 4 door rolling chassis (no engine/trans/harness/ECU/suspension/exhaust/wheels/etc)

Body/suspension:
Added 99-00 Si lower front control arms and front sway bar (DX didn't come with one)
Added Civic HX shocks/springs
Put on new outer tie rod ends
New front rotors and ceramic pads
Got car aligned
Put on HX wheels with new tires
Added rear dust caps for rear hubs (they came off when I pulled his wheels off as his center bores were too small...)
Tinted all windows 35%

Interior:
Added Type F center armrest console
Put in sun visors as they were MIA
Put cover on mirror mounting point (MIA)
Added factory floor mats and took out rubber ones
Added correct HX cluster (have not wired for shift light yet)
Pulled poorly operating CD player and put one that works in
Replaced blower motor resistor (only worked on 2 highest fan settings before)

Engine/trans/exhaust:
Installed complete HX exhaust system
New ISB and IS seal on trans
New flywheel/clutch disc/pressure plate, pilot bearing, TOB
New valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket
New timing belt/water pump/tensioner
New front axles
All new coolant hoses
Installed complete HX swap and modified the U bend under the airbox to move where air inlet was (did not want to hole saw hole so it could come up in factory spot)
Added all AC components (did not have AC on car), vacuumed system, and charged.
Fastline shifter

Have to put on a new exhaust manifold this week (one on it is cracked; found a new one for the right price). Also adding Si rear sway bar and I'll be stripping the HX wheels all the way down to bare aluminum. Have to replace driver door hinges (door slightly drops when door is opened) and detail the whole car but that probably won't be until next week as wife is going to be driving this to Nebraska this week.
