Default Peak boost ramhorn & precision 6262

Ok I have read reviews on both products and I have read good things about both products. But I was just wondering if anyone else on here had some feedback about them. Cause I'm looking into buying both this winter so I can get rid of my shitty cast log manifold and have a little better piece of mind about the turbo I have. Thanks guys

I would not run the PB manifold. I would look elsewhere, maybe at a BlueRidge Motorsports piece. Better overall quality from them. Also look at a DOC Race manifold. That guy does some awesome work.

BRMS is where I bought my twin disc, and I have also looked into their catch cans. The guy does some good work.

I have a precision turbo, ( i have yet to run it) but from what i have researched, they are great. But have draw backs. The Journal bearings on most PTE turbos dont last to long.. that seems to be their week area. I imagine for that price, that its journal. I got the duall ball bearing version. Is the 6262 billet? what are its options, IE billet, surge cover, v-band exhaust, or Comp housing?

Im not sure what your running for engine, but the 6262 is decently big.. i believe its a gt40R equivalent.. thats alot to push efficiently with a smaller motor.. just saying. I chose the 5857 for my 2.4. It really depends on your goals tho. IMO, i think the Ball bearing 6262 is great, but a little big for what you need, and the journal bearing makes me nervous. There is a decent amount of documentation of issues with the PTE journal bearings.. not saying they are trash, just that they do have issues.

Well I have a fully built b20 vtec putting down 450 whp on 14 lbs as of now. In the spring I wanted to go back with a different manifold and turbo and tune my low boost at 14lbs again and finally tune high boost somewhere around 20 lbs. I'm shooting for somewhere in the 550 whp range. Do you think the 5857 would achieve my goal? And the 6262 is equivalent to a gt35r I do believe..

I just looked into the 5857 looks great. I might have to go with that. I believe it would be better for my setup.. Thanks Cody

no prob

the 6262 is a little bigger then the 35R. those PTE turbos preform tho.. they are pretty sweet!. Just keep in mind PSI is just a number, CFM is what you care about ; )

you goin for the ball bearing or journal? I think either are fine, but BB offers a little better performance and life.

Get this thing running!!!

I'll be going bb. It already runs super hard but she has been put down for the winter to be painted and a few goodies like new turbo and manifold. Cause right now it has a cast log and I want to free up some power.

How quick does that 5857 spool up?

Tha is a good question.. Im doing same thing you are, upgrading turbo and manifold. from what i have read, tuners are comparing the performance (power output) to that of a 32r, with the lag of a 28r. Which is awesome. so im guessing its decently quick, If not fastest for its size.

kool not bad. hopefully the mani + awsome turbo will get you higher and closer numbers, however your delta between hp and tq is far better then most of the hondas (they have less TQ thats a fact, not picking on any one) that post their dyno slips.. i saw one yesterday that was a delta of 140+!

having a physics background, I always chuckle when everyone drools over those high hp numbers, but tq remains low..

lol I know that all to well that's why I went with the b20z block better tq numbers. And the numbers are fairly even. Better that some I have seen to.. If I can find the slip I will post it but its been awhile since it was dynoed. In the spring the new slips should be impressive.
