If it is a little puff of oil smoke, I would say valve seals. Other possible issue is it is a little loaded on fuel, since you went to a single runner manifold, and you could be seeing the difference in fueling when vtec engages, and when the secondary butterflies are supposed to open. But that would definitely be a different color puff than burning oil.

^^ Listen to him, he's got your answer right here.

What color is the puff of smoke? Also did you say vtec isn't engaging until 6k???

Man, I built a fresh engine, didn't burn a drop. Beat the piss out of it. Many, many, passes at the track. Proper maintenance will solve a lot of the oil burning issues.

I doubt it's because of the IM.
Even if you had a vaccum leak you would of heard that air leak on intital startup.
- look over the vaccum lines to make sure theres not rips/tears

typcially white smoke means it's coolant, but if it's burning coolant it would be consistant, not just at WOT after vtec.

are you on stock ecu?
even with stock ecu, the car shouldn't lean out too bad even with the addition of the skunk2 IM.
