Default question???

I just recently purchased a 2005 altima sl. 2.5l motor. Was told by the previous owner there was a new motor put in due to the recall for the altimas and didnt have paperwork to prove it. Could i call any nissan dealer and could they look up my vin # and b able to tell me when and where or if the recall on this vehicle was taken care of? Anyone please help

Yes. Any recall that's on a car they use the VIN to keep a record of it. 2g DSMs had a problem with their center diffs IIRC and they would keep a record of it, even though they're 14+ yrs old.

Nissan replaced motors under 80,000 miles within 10 years for original owners, something like that, you can always call Nissan or you can always check your carfax .

Basically what everyone has already said. Dealer can confirm it or you can always check a Carfax as it will be listed on there as well.

Called nissan and they said either the recall has been taken care of or there are no recalls on this vehicle. Bcuz once the recalls are taken care of it disappears from their system so they are not showing anything for it
