I think we should have access to that feature to save everybody some time..to show viewers that the thread is LOCKED/DEAD and that you don't have to waste your time opening that thread and see that the item is either SOLD, DELETED, OR CLOSED. Agree?

How about adding a single line to your first post in red, bold, all caps that says "SOLD", "DEAD", "CLOSED", etc.?

http://jdmcity.com/showthread.php?t=12562

http://jdmcity.com/showthread.php?t=13154

http://jdmcity.com/showthread.php?t=13224

But I can see how it can be useful.

Change the title of your thread to CLOSED/SOLD.

yeah thats all we can do and viewers would still have to open that thread to see whats inside. Now if there was a padlock symbol next to the thread, I wouldn't bother to look...

The reason for not having this option is for archiving purposes. In example, what if a user decides to delete a useful thread that may help hundreds of people who bookmarked it?

What if there was a debate that was unfinished and got deleted, and more people want to chime in for a resolution?
