Default rmp gauge/dizzy problem. help ?

Okay so i have a 97 integra Ls. Tha dizzy recently went bad so i had a family memeber of mine replace it . But now what happens is that it starts and all but then the rmp gauge goes all crazy even on neutrel it goes back and forth, than sometimes the car just turns off while driving . Its driving me crazy what could it be? Help.

If you bought a remanned one from the parts store its very common for them to be bad right off the bat.

One other thing to add is check the plugs themselves to make sure non of the pins popped out when unplugging/pugging them in. I've had the tach wire pin come out without me realizing it and my rpms wouldn't show. It's a blue wire.
