Default 91 accord hard start after sitting

so here are all of the symptoms my 1991 accord ex is giving me. if the car sits for a good amount of time (6 hours or longer) to get the car to start back up you need t opump the gas while cranking and prevent it from stalling. when acceleratign when the tach needle gets past 3500 the needle will bounce back and forth 750-1000 rpms back and forth. if the car has been running recently it will start up just fine. i have replaced distributor cap/rotor, plugs/wires, main relay, coolant temp sensor, pcv valve, battery, and fuel filter. i do know there is a huge hole in the muffler right now but am gettign that replaced (dont think that would have anything to do with the problem). also when driving around you can smell gas inside the car. i did hear the icm in the distributor is most likely the cause of the bouncy tach. any ideas?

Have you tried checking to see if your battery is good?

the bouncy idle is caused by your IACV you need to remove it and clean it with carb cleaner.

yeh didnt you read my post, the battery is new. why would it only happen in certain rpm ranges if it was the iacv?

Sorry i saw everything but the battery.

the idle is a vacuum issue. usually not a distributor issue.

the tach stays pretty steady at idle just when revving or accelerating past 3k the tach needle jumps all over the place back and forth

ohh my bad i thought you were talking about the famous Honda erratic idle.

it's probably the ignitor coil or bad grounds.
