Default clutch recommendations?

So its time for a clutch.. going to finish the exhaust and get an accessport and coilovers with my tax return. the clutch has been slipping so what better time than now to upgrade. wanting to go with stage 2. any suggestions or preference on brand? trying not to break the bank..but obviously want something trustworthy.

I'd reccomend Exedy. I have their stage 1 and flywheel.
The manufacturer parent company is actually the same as OEM.

ive only ever used exedy in my cars but the price tag was killer on a stage 2 clutch kit and flywheel for this thing...hate using the "B" word..but im on a tight budget. i wouldnt worry about it yet but its slippin.

I am not sure on the size. The PO had put it on before I purchased it. I wouldn't believe him, but from what I've heard, they make you drop RPMs fast between shifts, which my car most certainly does. Sorry I don't know the exact details.

Exact same that I have on my GF8 and GDB. Combined with a ACT Streetlight flywheel and you can downshift and rev match any corner pho-fectly.

I was talkin to Jeremy boysen about it and Im thinking a stage 2 comp clutch. It's pretty affordable. And I'll probably get an ACT streetlight to run with that. But you guys don't have any issues with your lighter flywheels at all? I was reading up on the forums about people having some issues with them.

im also beginning to wonder if stage 2 would be too aggressive for daily driving..

Stage 2 clutches are not too aggressive for daily driving. Still able to drive comfortable in city. I really do like the ACT Street clutch kit with their Streetlight flywheel. I would stay away from Competition Clutches. A buddy of mine had it in his 20G EJ205 and it slipped after 3k miles. The multi-disk clutches and 6 pucks are a pain in the ass since they are on/off engagement.

Oh and in response to the problems with flywheels question. I have none. RPMS just drop quicker so less granny shifting

SPT clutch is most likely made by Exedy. Exedy is the parent company that makes the stock OEM clutches for our cars. You will like the SPT clutch. Its quite similar to the ACT HD clutch.

You sure that's for the SPT clutch kit? I thought that price was just for the clutch disk only.

330 is just for the disc u have to use a different cover as well and buy pilot bearings and everything separate. And I guess they messed up my order and charged me wrong it's more like 450 for the disc and 550 for the cover. I said fuck it and just got a oem clutch.
