Id say fair price around $2k maybe $1500. If you plan on building it though, be prepared to spend a lot.

the problem with the sr5 is that its a carbed motor. so If you want to swap in the 4age, you have to swap complete fuel systems, or design your own custom one like i did. then you have to swap all the wiring harnesses as well. there are a lot of good write ups on club4ag and other websites if you want to look into it

you can take a gts's fuel system and swap it. You'll want the tank and all the lines. As for a shop in iowa, I do not know of one specializing in them, but I can bet anyone like central imports or someone can do it pretty well. Personally, i'm doing it all myself, just as a project though.

i think he is talking about the one here in centerville i was thinking about getting it since she said she would take 1800 for it and i think that i will get it and start doing the swap myself if i can afford it. but wondered if i bought a gts then are the mounts easier to swap in other motors or is it all pretty much the same

Just get a fucking GTS don't waste your time messing with an SR5 unless it's clean as shit but this one you're talking about has a baseball sized rust spot. Not worth it.

With enough money you could swap in the V12 from a TVR speed 12. If budget is a problem I wouldn't even worry about buying the car.

Are you kidding me? Any swap will work in any car, but throwing a fucking 4AGE costs a lot, I don't even wanna know how much a 2j would cost. Biggest part would come down to who is doing the fab work for you because it's not just gonna drop right in. If I were to guess (this is with someone doing fab work for cheap and you doing the work yourself) I would say expect to spend 8-9k if you did it right. Same thing with any other huge swap going in an SR5 you're gonna spend more money then you'll ever want to fork over. This is also just for putting the motor/trans in and having it run. You would still need to modify more if you plan on actually putting the pedal down.

yea you're looking at spending a couple grand to just do a gts swap. I completely agree with what themaster said about the 2j as well.

Just a heads up. The AE85 was never sold in America so we don't have those. What we do have however, is the SR5 and GTS, which have their differences. Just don't want to see people mistakingly calling the SR5 an 85 because even though the SR5 is nothing compared to the GTS its a hell of a lot better then an 85.
