Default Obd1 Engine Harness Breakdown

From a 92 Civic 5 Speed

(Making Sure all of you connections and Orders are right is Your Responsibility Not Mine) This is what i gathered from digging through a harness

When i say the wires and their approx position im looking at the female end and the clip side up
And when color/ color comes up that means main color/stripe color

Map Sensor
3 wires spaced left to right
White-Green-Yellow/green

TPS sensor
3 wires spaced left to right
Yellow/White-Red/Blue-Green/White

IACV sensor
2 wires spaced top bottom
Blue/yellow-yellow/black

VSS sensor(speed sensor)
3 wires spaced left to right
Yellow/White-Yellow/blue-Black

Fan switch/engine temp sensor
2 wires spaced top bottom
Black-Green

Thermostat Ground
4 wires connecting into one looped connector
-2 black wires-Red/black- Brown/black

Distributor Plug 1(large plug)
7 wires 1 blank distributed evenly from left to right (from upper left if looking at the plug eonnector side with clip up....)
1-Orange
2-Orange/blue
3-Blue/green
4-Yellow/green
5-White
6-White/blue
7-Blue/yellow
8-blank

Distributor plug 2 (small plug)
2 wires left to right
Black/yellow-Blue

02 Sensor plug
4 wires distributed evenly left to right top to bottom(from upper left)
1-Green/white
2-White
3-Orange/black
4-Yellow/black

Reverse sensor
2 wires left to right
Yellow-Green/black

(unsure of sensors name)
1 wire going to the head near the trans....
Yellow/green

(unsure of sensor name)
2 wires from top to bottom (this goes to the other sensor on the head....)
Red/white-Green/white

Starter wire
1wire female clip
Black/white

Now im going to reverse from where i started working my way to the other side....

Oil temp/psi sensor
1 wire
Yellow/red

Air intake temp sensor
2 wires from top to bottom
Green/white-Red/yellow

Vaccum sensor plug
2 wires from top to bottom
Yellow/black-Red

Alternator to fuse box wire
1 wire
White

Alternator plug
4 wires distributed evenly top bottom left to right (1 and 2 are horizontal, and 3 and 4 are verticle)
1-Blue
2-White
3-Black/yellow
4-White/blue

Fuel injector plugs
8 wires 2 in each plug from left to right with clip side up. a being left b being right....and im going from the farthest away from the harness itself first to the one closest....
1a)Yellow/black
1b)Yellow

2a)Yellow/black
2b)Blue

3a)Yellow/black
3b)Red

4a)Yellow/black
4b)Brown

End of the 1992 Engine plugs

Now i also had at my disposal a 94 si harness from a 5spd so here we go

Vtec solinoid
2 plugs

1wire plug
Green/yellow

2 Wire plug
Blue/black
Black

and at the junkyard i just glanced at the only plug needed for the auto trans (that two tier thing that looks like a dual vtec solinoid oil pressure sensor......

2 wire plug
Green/black
and either Yellow or Yellow/white

Engine harness part 2
i will first describe the plug by wire colors and area and then below the description of that side i will put where said wire goes....also I live in the US so when i say drivers side and passenger side if facing the engine at the front of the car Drivers side right, passenger side left.....

Drivers side tower
3 plugs(1 with no male connector just a blank plate)

No plug(the one with no plug going to it )
8 wires all yellow black

2 wire plug(drivers side)
2 wires from left to right
Black/yellow-Black/white

14 pin plug(drivers side)
14 wires distributed 3/4/4/3
Clip/top
1 2 3
4 5 6 7
8 9 10 11
12 13 14

^not perfect but you get the idea

1-Black/yellow
2-White/blue
3-Red
4-Blue/yellow
5-Yellow/blue
6-Yellow/white

Now to what they go to
no plug harness didnt get into detail here but some go to the injectors

2pin plug
Black/white-Starter wire
Black/yellow-Distributor

14 pin plug
1-Black/yellow-Alternator
2-White/blue-Alternator
3-Red-vaccum sensor
4-Blue/yellow-IACV sensor
5-Yellow/blue-Speed sensor
6-Yellow/white-speed sensor
7-Blue-distributor
8-Yellow/red-oil psi sensor
9-Green-temp/fan switch sensor
10-Black-speed sensor
11-Yellow/green-1 wire unknown sensor from head
12-Yellow/black-vaccum sensor
13-Green/black-Reverse sensor
14-Yellow-Reverse sensor

Passenger side plugs
3 plugs 1 rogue wire

1 wire- White

14 possible pin harness....on the 92 civic with a nonvtec in it is a 9pin plug
on the 93+non vtec without the map sensor on the firewall its a 12 pin plug and on vtec cars where the map is on the top of the throttle body its a 14 pin plug

*=depending on what model your car is and what harness you may not have this wire there

14 wires distributed unevenly 3/4/4/3

Found out also that some wires have two going into it.... so when you see a sensors name and a / and then another sensors name thats what i meant....

10-Blank possibly for auto not sure what color
