I think that outer lot was probably a better location than the infield. Way more space huh.

^ Sounds like some people build for show, and some people build for the real deal.

The show car nissan guys are scared of drifting, they are the gods of hardparking! Makes me sick, use that shit son, why spend several thousand dollars on super nice suspension if you're just going to park it?

A lot more space and room, but I'm not sure if it was better. The infield would have been a better surface and I think it would have made for a nicer course given its not bouncy and rough like the parking lot was. Although I don't mind the bumps and stuff so I think I might have preferred the lot over the infield.

It's the same thing with the Honda guys. Some get a kick out of shows/looks and some get a kick out of driving. It's not a crying shame...just reality.

i guess i assumed they liked to drift, since most of them are always saying that there is never any sanctioned drifting events nearby, and now that there was one, not one of them showed (that i know of). No joke, only reason i would buy a 240 is to drift it.

It was a nice excuse for them to use, but now that the excuse is no longer valid I wonder what they will say. lol

i don't think you can comment on how nice these 240s are until you inspect the parts you can't readily see on them.

I agree entirely. Just because the body's aren't all painted, or have dents rust etc, just leads to better driving because of less care about the bodies. Clayton (black S13 hatch with sparkly white hood) hit one of the pot holes and ripped his fender all to shit. I bet if someone with a "clean" car would have entered the event and done that, they would have bitched and moaned about the track, and been too scared to do another event.

Also, the amount of time and care to get or make their own suspension and engine parts in some of these cars, and to properly set it up for this sort of track use far out weighs the physical appearances of other cars. Yea, there are clean cars that enter events, and some even have rare parts, but not all are "drifting" cars are in drifting functionality as the cars in events.

I, personally, don't enjoy the people who claim to drift at parking lot events and never show, and don't like them setting the example of what cars should be in these events. They'll talk up how clean their car is and how great they can drift, but my 3 color, rusted quarters and dented fender car can perform much better than the show cars because of my seat time, and not bitching when I break a $400 part.

I never said these cars weren't nice. I was just wondering where the solid color 240s with no zip ties were at. Bc they always Bitch n Moan that there's no drift scene in Iowa. Much credit to the cats that were out there drifting.

"Their shoes are too pretty to get dirty". Hopefully they bring their cars out, can't wait to see what the drift scene turns into next year. The foundation is in, now all it can do is expand from here. Already noticing a lot of people selling their FWD cars to get into 240's.

Just about impossible to drift and not have zip ties somewhere on your car. My g35 didnt have any before the event... now I have a few. Gotta pay to play.

Oh yeah! Looks like I have achieved the impossible! lol, nah I'm just lucky really, my bumper is starting to tear away at my driverside fender pretty bad so zip ties are looking to be in my near future.

I've never been more happy in my life that I don't sit crazy low anymore. I hit that bump hard a few times, if I had been sitting how I used to I'm confident I would have left some parts behind that day.

I didn't know about it doing any damage to you, sucks to hear. At least it wasn't anything too crazy bad. I think Clayton suffered the most damages.
