ls vtec huh? lol my opinion is that its not as reliable as b16a b18c ect... but ive seen it create power... who knows though... i never tried it. if the motor blows up... just hope it never effects the b16a head so it will be cheap to replace thats my 2 cents

An "a series" head is just another non-vtec, LS, head. It will be fine.

An LS block, with a vtec head is known as LSvtec.

This is how to build a reliable LSvtec correctly. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1676914

not typically the rods.... its the rod bolts that tend to stretch and cause the damage.

Rolls fourth gear no prob Don't believe me go for a ride ha. I have about 190hp to the wheels (unless the dyno lied) It is an ls/vtec with 5000 miles on it, b16 tranny, bigger injectors, low comp pistons, intake, exhaust nothin too special. But of course you know I have lsd due to my b16 tranny so I roll them BOTH ask anyone who has rode in it it's a beast but could be MUCH faster lol. I'm not sure about the bottom end though I never tore into that I know the top end for sure...

Pretty good sleeper. Not much to look at under the hood to look at but it gets the job done.

So, went to lower compression pistons to make more power, on what cams, and what header/IM setup are you running? Not hating, just questioning, because I know what it takes to make 190 out of a LS/VTEC. Try putting some decent tires for traction on it, and it won't break loose in 4th. Waste of power.

ls vtecs will get you more power then the average gsr imo. b20V is my favorite. arp rod bolts, head studs,ACL bearings, type r pistons. you got your self some reliable power
