The viper 350 responder is a very inexpensive & reliable system. Has 2-way "paging" remote, shock sensor, trunk/hood trigger and door triggers. Full vehicle coverage for around $250 installed. Great alarm system for a great price.

+1 on the Viper. Most responsive and reliable alarm I've ever had.

791xv was prolly the model # that was one of my favorite models and now is discontinued.

Viper, Clifford & python are ALL the same thing. The only difference is the style of remote. So either way with either of those you will be satisified.

I bought a new remote before they quit making them so I had an extra when I broke it. Just need to get around to installing it

It was one of their best models at the time. Then was quickly outdone by the .5 mile range and full color OLED screen

And yes, Clifford, Viper and Python are all owned by the same company. All good components.

Sure. But professional installation is recommended.

It all depends on the amount of factory features your vehicle has. Each alarm comes with an install manual, but there's a lot of tap ins involved. I was going to install mine on my monte and then I looked at the wiring diagram and decided against it.

Ford and Garland does some seriously good work. I had my first one instaleld by Best Buy for I think like 150 if I remember right. Ford and Garland will install for free if you purchase it there, last time I checked at least.

It is a good, basic alarm system. But, it is only a one-way system. IMO just spend the extra $50 and get a 2 way, it is definitly worth it. Do it right the first time so you wont have to do it a second time.

The two way transponders are the sickest thing to ever come from an alarm system. Plus, the functionality of the two way compared to the one way far surpasses anything else. Of course, with a few separate harnesses you can buy down the road. Like remote windows at up, halfway and full down, GPS tracking, Proximity Sensors, the remote will tell you if its being bothered and if its broken into will tell you (depending on if you have the momentary switches installed) if the door/hood/trunk was opened, or if its still open. Tons of other shit to install, and can all be done later down the road.
