Just like bobby said. Don't do an h22 swap, put the h22 head on your h23 bottom end. You'll be much more satisfied with that. It's what ballers do.

I bought it with a built h23 with h22 head, the timing belt tensioner broke and destroyed the motor. I found a cheap h22 out of Illinois and swapped that in it. So what tommy was saying is true, I went from an h23 to an h22 which is why he's poking fun at me over my comment.

The h23 bottom end will give you a larger stroke then h22. I'm not sure what the power difference is. Plus you should be able to do a h22 head swap for less the the cost of an h22.

Would it make a diffrence, h23 with h22 head or straight h22? Would it effect how it runs at all?

The h23 with h22 head will make more torque and bottom end power then the H22 will. As for which motor makes more overall hp or peak hp I couldn't tell you since I don't know what the average hp is for an h23 that's been converted to vtec. From my understanding they are relatively close to each other.

As for how they run, you'll have to specify what you mean by that. They will both run like a normal motor would. You'll have to get the h23/h22 motor tuned where as for an H22 swap you could simply swap a stock h22 ecu in the car.

just do the straight swap. no offense but i have been reading a lot of your post and you seem to have little knowledge. we all started out that way, but you can always swap blocks later. first learn to do a straight swap before you try something much more difficult.

its just not as easy as dropping a h22 head on the h23 block. there are parts needed that they are not telling you. certian things dont fit from one to the other. plus the tuning needed is more money just to get what you want from an h22.
