Default DIY Trunk Floor

Alright I know the majority of us dont have that piece of cardboard in our trunks that came with our cars out of the factory Or those who do have them have broken them from how flimsy they are This is good cheap alternative

Made my trunk floor based on the information from this DIY

http://www.civicforums.com/forums/11...pare-tire.html

-Material I used-

-4x4 sheet of 3/4" thick MDF Plywood (Purchased from Menards for around $20)
-Skilsaw with a couple extra blades
-Pencil&Ruler
-sander with pretty fine grit sand paper to smooth out rough edges (optional)
-Quenching beverage of choice and patience

Helpful Info

-I went with 3/4" thick just so I would have a sense of security of not breaking the trunk floor.....this was basically just a "trial and error" DIY I've thinking about going back and re-doing it with 1/2" thick MDF

-I purchased my 3/4" MDF at Menards for around $20, 1/2" MDF is a little cheaper for a 4x4 sheet

-If you considering doing this I would get the bigger sheet (not sure on the exact size) which was around $25 because a 4x4 sheet was off an inch or 2 on the width

Took me about 2hrs of trial and error (this was my first time trying this DIY)

I didnt take any pics of the cutting but heres where I got today (10/1)

^Kind of f*cked up on cutting the center which came out a little too wide but somewhat fit

Wrench Re: DIY Trunk Floor

Do you plan on purchasing speaker box/trunk fabric to cover it? Will clean it up real nice. Good job by the way.

That's cool. I made a spare tire door for my old 98 Ex coupe trunk board.
