Default New wheels time for moar low

Just finished up taking care of my wheel wells. Moved the wire loom up out of the way and hammered the living shit out of the medal lip that loves to shred up tires. Just waiting on getting my suspension wrenches back from a friend and we shall drop it to the floor. Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure.

The wheels are XXR 962 fronts are 18x8.5 +35 and rears are 18x9.5 +35 with 265 tires on all 4.

Open BOV on a MAF sensor. Every time I shift it backfires since the Maf is reading air that's being ventilated to atmosphere. This causes the car to run really rich and causes it to get "black bumper". You'll see this on a lot of MAF based motors, especially when they run an un-circulated bov.

me no burn oil.

I'll let the previous owner know that you think he's retarded for flaring the wheel wells so far. Even tho he had to to prevent his proxies from getting sliced up when taking corners. Much better to let it destroy a set of 800$ tires so it doesn't look "dumb" faggot.

What wheels did it have on before that required such a roll? Also, what was their intention with building a 240 other than burning up tires?

Had a set of 5zigens. Couldn't tell you the size since I sold them right away. He built the car strictly for MAM. He wasn't much of a "let's get sideways" person.

Unless I forgot how to read I don't recall him asking for your observation. It's always easier to find ways to put people down.

I think the wheels look great nick!

Still got em. Working on cleaning them up. Gonna repaint them and use them for drift wheels. It'll be a lot less expensive for me that way lol

Good, just keep them around. If you ever decide to get rid of them, keep me in mind. Loved the way those things fit on my 4th gen Lude when I had it. Would make me look at trying to find another one if I picked those wheels up.

I'll at least be holding onto the wheels until after Proving Grounds in June. That's the main reason I'm still wanting to have them because I plan on destroying 2 sets of tires over the weekend. I'll probably sell them after that, but idk if you would really want them. 2 of the wheels have some serious curb damage on em.

They have had bumps and bruises since I owned them. While I am not saying you have not done more, when I originally bought the Prelude with them on it, they were stretching 205's on them, and would bend if you looked at a bump wrong. I got pretty good at straightening them out until I put a real tire on them. Paying someone to do some welding and polishing on them to get them back to nice would not be a big deal. They just fit so perfect on the 4th gen Prelude.

Decided to post a quick update on the setup.

Lowered the front about as far as I can go without having the wheels rub every time I hit a bump.

Had some technical dificulties along the way. My suspension decided it didn't want to come loose. Then with added force the spanner wrenches couldn't handle it and bent. So I had to order some new ones, and some nice ones at that.

New next to the old.

Now for some pics of the suspension.

First I tried attaching a ratchet by itself.

Didn't have much luck with that...turned out I had to use the entire jack handle, then run at it as fast as I could and put all of my body's weight into it. After 10 tries or so they finally came loose!

Lowered another inch and a quarter. Plus added some preload to try and get rid of some of my suspension travel till I get stiffer springs.

Here are a few before and after pictures.

Satisfied with the new height up front (which is actually a quarter of an inch lower then the rear even tho it doesn't look like it) I took her out for a spin to find that when turning the wheels left the driverside was having a jolly good time rubbing away. Turns out the wheel was still able to hit some of the exposed part of the harness.

Luckly I'm not the only one to have ever had this problem before. So I called up Taylor Stringer to ask him about what he did on his S13, and I copied off his aluminum plate idea.

Quick made a template out of cardboard and riveted the bitch on there.

It isn't exactly the most beautiful looking thing in the world but this will have to do for now.
