Default Distributor conversion question

Hey guys,

So I bought a new distributor for my ls/vtec, but I guess I ordered an OBD2 distributor. My ecu is an OBD1. Is it safe to repin the distributor with the ODB1 plugs, or is there any difference in the actual internals between an OBD1 and OBD2 distributor? I'm on a time crunch, and returning it would be nice and reordering the right one, but if I can just repin the plugs, then I will.

Thanks!

- Brandon

Re-pinning it will be just fine. Be sure to verify you have good connection as the pin depth is different from obd1 to obd2 plugs.

Alright cool I was checking a couple other forums just now and it said the same thing. I'll also throw in some electrical contact grease to help with the connection. I just didn't want to wait 6 days when we were planning on swapping in 2 days lol

Thanks!
