Default Which manifold style is the best performing?

Hey guys,

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to find a solid anser.

I see all styles of manifolds but I'm unsure which is the best flowing for a N/A motor. I have a ls/v b18b in a DA Integra. Between straight manifolds, tri-y and 4-2-1 manifolds, which is the best flowing?

If I was you I wouldn't worry about which style preforms the best. Because you can a buy shitty header of all those style. There is a ton of great threads on a header for your set up. Take sometime search YouTube and Honda Tech. I dont know from personal experience because Ive never owned a b series, but everyone use to talk about a hytech replia as best bang for buck. So maybe you should start there.

brandon how much power are you looking to make?

you'll find that not many NA guys are willing to sell out $700 for a custom header or max power.... but then again, most guys don't need it.

If you looking for anything under 250whp
a big tube triy header off ebay or from PLM would be fine.
If your interested , you could cut off the collector and test some different megaphone collectors on there to get a few more ponies.

The whole reason I ask is because I've always been a V-8 guy where you either go shorties or long tube, the collector was always 4-1 haha.

I've done a little research, but everyone has a different thing to say about them. I'm not looking to squeeze 1 ponie over the other, but I want to make sure I don't end up buying the wrong part and getting pissed

Charlie,

I've looked at some prices, and you're definitely right about that. Unless I was building over 400-500 WHP, i'm not shelling out 400-800 for a MANIFOLD. I guess I'm just used to the other scene? Not to mention, the catback systems offered are anywhere from 600-1500. I was shocked haha. I've heard bad things about the ebay pieces, that they crack at the welds and what not. Is this THAT common? The DC Sport's aren't bad, but 350 for one manifold is still steep. i guess I just wasn't expecting the high prices for half the material lol.

some ebay manifolds do crack cause they are basically made cheaply overseas. lol
DC, greddy, stillen, all those old companies haven't changed their header design for a long time and are rather over priced. (IMHO).

I would just check out PLM header. Solid header & have good warranty if anything happens. Expect to pay around $250 for the big tube version.
If your making under 200whp... then small tube version is fine and they are around $180 shipped.

Charlie,

I'm not sure where you are finding your prices haha. GoogleShopping, eBay and their website all show no lessthan 300 for the standard primary size header.

However, they do look great.

Any of those plm headers are enough to support majority of the setup out there at the moment so anyone of them should be fine. Since you're still on a 1.8, the small tube hytech replica or the rmf narrow would work with your setup.
