Hey guy I have a 2007 civic that I have been working on for a friend and its not getting fuel or spark and i dont get y. I was think it was the chip in the key but the green light on the dash doesnt stay on so I dont know what else it could be checked all the fuses. Any more help from u guys would be great.

The only thing that comes to mind is the cam position sensor (located to the right bottom of the cam gear) but we need more info so I arranged some questions:
Are there any check engine lights on or have you checked to see if there is a code that can be pulled?

When you say there is no spark or fuel, how did you check to see if there isn't?

Is fuel pump priming before you hit the key all the way?

Did it do this while he was driving it and it just shut off on its own?

Is the car just cranking over and over without kicking on all the way?

Was your friend doing something to it prior to this happening (I'm assuming the car is stock)?

Ok i just put a new motor in it for me we were told the old motor was blown and the fuel pump isnt making any sound at all and i pulled a coilpack and put and spark plug in it and nothing and i havent got a code reader yet. I was thinking it was the chip in the key. But i want to make sure on anything else first.

Alright, once you see about the chip in key.....let us know. Sometimes the simplest of things can turn your day upside down...lol If for any reason the key isnt the issue just go step by step from the questions I asked above. First thing will be to either get or borrow a code reader to ensure it doesn't pull any codes that could potentially help pinpoint issue. Then after that the fuel pump (which can be wiring, relays, fuses etc). Generally when there is a coil on plug setup on a vehicle there will be either a crank or cam sensor doing the work of what a cap and rotor used to do. If for instance the cam sensor isn't working properly by sending the right signal to the ecu, then there is nothing for the ecu to read off of and you'll be cranking that engine til the battery dies.

Just check the key, pull codes (if any), check reason why pump is not priming and last but not least cam sensor.....which will require valve cover removal (good time for a gasket then) and plastic cover around cam. I know it sounds "dumb" also to do this but double check all wiring is plugged in to all related sensors/spots on engine......like I mentioned before, sometimes the smallest things can cause the biggest headaches!!
