This thread may help............look for the guy named JG he posted on how to get the code from it.
http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/8854...ower-steering/ Hodge has part of the answer but we all need to know the code and if you find it I can look it up on Mitchell and see what procedure they want ya to do. Maybe Hodge has had this issue and if code is the same he along with others can help ya get a quick fix. ![]() |

Were you able to get a code out of it? Like importusa said a code would help us out to where we could got in to mitchell or honda's IN and figure out where to start diagnosis.

soooo guys, when i diagnosed it came out to be the transmiter. i ended up getting a whole rack. i tried to take the easy way and just replaced it. in doing so when taking off the tie rod boot, nasty corroted water came out. probably gonna take the rack out because its not to difficult. BUT, ive been hearing that i need to take it to the dealer to get re-calibrated. anyone ever been through this? Damn eps...

Well to re-calibrate the EPS by the book, you need the Honda tester, but after I read the procedure there should be no reason why you couldn't backprobe the connector.
If you want to try it yourself and are brave enough (theres just somthing about back probing connectors that scares me) but try this, sort of a cliff notes to the procedure. 1. Using backprobes, connect PIN 9 to PIN 4 on the ODBII connector. 2. Turn the wheel 45 degrees to the left. 3. Turn the ignition switch on (II). 4. The EPS Light will be on for 4 seconds, when it goes out do step 5. 5. Turn the wheel Straight and release. 6. The EPS Light will turn on in 4 seconds, when it goes out do step 7. 7. Turn the steering wheel 45 degrees to the left. 8. The EPS Light will be on for 4 seconds, when it goes out do step 9. 9. Turn the steering wheel Straight and release. The EPS light should blink twice after you relase the wheel, within 4 seconds. then it will blink 5 times. If the EPS light stays on, you will have to do this process again. Just make sure you are in the right PIN's on the connector. Hope this helps. ![]()
