Default Go for broke d16 build!

well its come time to make another thread on the car and whats going on.
a little info on the car. ive owned it since 06. senior year in high school
first turbo setup made 174whp (15g)
second setup was 300ish whp (ebay 57trim and vitara) stock head
last setup 475whp 325 trq (PTE 6262) still same vitara motor with built head and IM.

the last track visit of the year i missed 2nd real bad and reved the piss out of it and it started knocking in the middle of the pass. think i hurt the oil pump.

heres a couple videos of the first visit to the track this year.
11 3 @133 - YouTube

this is the best pass it made with this setup
11 01@129 - YouTube

the very last pass it made. knocking the 2nd half of the track prolly. just couldnt hear it. (car is loud haha)
John's turbo civic - YouTube

still havent pulled the motor. and it broke almost 2 months ago i think. just no motivation. but started with getting stuff for the next setup.

the first thing is this GSR trans for the D2B setup im doing this year.

tranny is stock as of right now. going to do a 5th gear cuff and possibly spool. but not totally sure yet

the next thing i got.
just picked this jem up last week. for a steal of a price.

Darton sleeved z6 block. came with eagle rods and wiesco pistons(which i will not be using) going much higher compression.

just took it apart tonight. everything is in GREAT condition inside the motor. got the short block for cheaper then it costs to send one in and get sleeved.

even has ARP main studs. which i was told are not made for SOHC's, they are B series ones that 3 of them were cut down to clear the pan and pick up.

rods and pistons. pistons are being donated to a fellow DSO member

with this years setup im going to be running the same turbo setup. same head just replacing the stock valves with OE sized aftermarket ones.
also going either 9.5:1 or 10:1 compression with arias pistsons

still need a lot of things till its all done but this is a good start i think.

when we were pulling the motor we found out it did not spin a bearing. the flywheel worked loose. no damage to the motor at all. some one was looking after me and the motor.
still not using that bottom end. will prolly be for sale soon

went on a little bit of a splurge and spent some money on some not really needed stuff but shit i wanted.
first off i ordered a wing! no not a ricer wing.
none of my friends like it. but what do they know?
NOTE: not my car

also bought a jacket for the track. beings i needed one tech at 11.99
and last but certainly not least.
you cant get a drag wing without a chute. and im hoping the car is close to trapping 150 next year. maybe mid 140's
picked this up today from a guy in chicago

got everything. il be remaking the part that gets welded to the rear of the chasis. but got the chunk of this one for something to work from.

all of the pictures were from my build thread on another forum so it may seem weird how i got all that stuff done fast when posts and photos were days apart on the other forum

Looking good man. Glad to see this thing moving forward. That CCC wing is pretty legitimate. I will need to see if they can make me one for my sedan eventually. Otherwise I will have Joe bang one out for me after this next season. I always love an off season that has a schedule of improvements setup.

thanks man. im sure they could me you one since they make one for about every other chasis.
i still got a lot of stuff to get. was going to get a strada front end but think i might stick with stock for now. to save some money. suspension is next. i would of got it today when i picked up the chute but didnt bring enough money. prolly going back to pick it up after the holidays.

i am sticking with the 6262. might be getting some ID's tho instead of the bosch 1600's
the 1600's i have are a bitch to tune with. so i think i will do brian a favor and get some ID's so he doesnt have to dick with how finickey these are.

i have no doubt that it will make 600. but will the block casting stay in one piece? i will be welding the freeze plug hole since that is always the starting point of the castings cracking on the 600+ sohc's.

i did nothing to the rail to use the 1600's. as far as i know you dont need to modify either the rail or injector to be used.
i will i guess be a street car. but wont really be on the street. will be on race gas prolly 120oct so it will cost to much just to cruise.
but it will have plates and be insured
