Eh, it'll be full racecar here soon, so imma get a second car anyway. Then I can build a motor and tranny, won't have to worry about highway unless I'm driving it to an event lol

What r ur plans? I know you said all motor but nothing crazy. So you can still do it easy an it not be a race car. A extra car is always nice tho. Usdm itr would be alright. An you could check out switching the 5th gear out. Maybe for a ls. Idk havnt looking into its a idea tho.

Planning on a block guard with forged rods and high comp pistons, then full valve train and more aggressive cams, mil the head a little for a little more compression, then bigger tb and port match intake, bisimoto header. Then maybe a itr or ctr trans, and yea I'm looking into a ls 5th. Then itr rear sway bar, better tyres, thinking bfg g-force, and then gut and carbon fiber EVERYTHING lol

Forget the block guard and the Bisimoto header. Much better headers out there than that, and that block guard will just cause you issues. Stock sleeves, 81.5mm bore, 500+whp, and revving to 9200ish RPM. Believe me, assembled properly, a stock sleeve block in an all motor setup will perform just fine without the block guard.

**** This is my cousin's car which we had tuned last weekend at MAP with Jordan

Vehicle: Outback XT
Trans: manual
turbo: stock VF46
clutch: stock
fuel: stock

Modifications:
  • -ERZ bell mouth catted downpipe
  • -stock mid and Y pipes
  • -AVO rear Outback Mufflers
  • -ERZ CNT FMIC
  • -K&N Typhoon intake
  • -Grimmspeed EBCS
  • -stock bov
  • -Cobb Access Port

Goal: 240hp @18lbs of boost

Once the Outback was strapped, Jordan stayed focused and continued to dail in the Outback.

First pull was pretty surprising at 271hp 28Xtq.
Through out the evening, the Outback only got better.

Tuning went pretty smooth the first half but we eventually ran into some problems.
The car threw a throttle code which wouldn't let you accelerate. Then the car wasn't holding boost and Jordan had problem shoot it before we could start the tune the second half. Jordan did a pressure test and found out that I had a bunch of air leak from my pipings.

Jordan remained focused and patient while dealing with the Outback. The tune took 18-20pulls. Since the Outback had SI drive, Jordan tuned on all 3 modes to make sure the Outback was running correctly. Jordan also stands behind his work and stated that if anything goes wrong with the Outback or if I threw any codes, bring it back to him and he'll take care of it and smooth it out.

the final results was 284 hp, 301 torque @15.75 lbs of boost.

Jordan and Charlie also took me on a tour of MAP's facility:

Default Re: The Official Dyno / Time / Charts Thread

Last Friday night Joe Morse came up from Austin MN to have his civic tune on the same day as Matt's GSR turbo.

He contact me a few months back about his setup and although I'm not a fan of SC on hondas (not as efficent as SC on other cars like V8), he picked up the JSRC kit for a cheap so we worked with what we had.

Setup:
  • 500 miles on rebuild OEM block
  • Blox cam with valvepsrings & retainers
  • Compeition Stage 4 clutch
  • JRSC with 8.5psi pulley
  • Megan Racing header
  • Test pipe + 2.5" exhaust
  • Prelude 310cc peak hold injectors (stock fuel pump)
  • P28 + crome
  • ..... vis vented hood

After a few pulls jordan notice IAT sensor wasn't reading.
We found this... and we replaced it with another one. This time we wired it properly for more accurate reading.

Overall for a $500 setup, I'm glad Joe put up some pretty decent numbers.
One thing I did caution him on is the IAT were pretty high ranging from 170-188F.

I'm not sure if he will switch to e85 or not.
My advice is to do it, not to make more power but mainly for cheap assurace from hot days and spirited driving if you don't let the manifold cool down properly.
