Don't waste your time with the Skunk 2 sports - they're prone to blow. I had them on my EM1 and they sucked.
I had a KYB AGX + H & R race spring set up on my car too. It was a much better ride.

its ok. i'm new. so i was like maybe i dont know whats going on. but yup thanks for changing it back. i dont think anyone has had this. which worries me a bit. but so others know. basically they can handle 2.5in drop on a honda civic. the whole strut is about a 1.25in shorter.and you cant use stock springs to use them cause of that. so you must have coilovers. so you can drop it. its mainly for just a small upgrade nothing to crazy. but will help overall.

I had never use Skunk2 shocks before, so I can't vouch for them. I have a similar setup like Andrew, the KYB AGX + H&R springs, and they were awesome for the price. This is where that saying goes "you get what you pay for". Go big or go home on suspension.

I've had the AGX's on my dsm for approximately 9 years now and all I need is to buy new springs for it since I didn't like my choice from back then. As long as you evade potholes etc. they should last a very long time.

Only interaction I've had with skunk2's were with a buddy of ours that wanted to put blox springs onto the skunk2's.......just ended up not working out and he ended up selling them. I still got the old thread somewhere so you can see it if interested and know what is going on. This way you don't end up making the same mistake down the road.....which I know you won't!

Very baller and a very awesome shock. Put those together with some ground control coilovers and you can daily drive and autocross.....without issues

Won't matter, its like putting a diamond ring on an ugly chick........she gets the job done but she's no good lookin'......lol. Same can be said about a beater car....you can still buy it diamond styled parts since it will get you to where you need to be!!

On the other hand if anything just go cheap if you don't have the money to spend on it.

Of course, you said it before this is for a DD and not to auto x in.....so honestly any shock will be fine as long as you don't slam it and hit every pothole in des moines.....lol

So I bought Koni orange, (242 dollars free shipping) n some extended top hats. Im gonna do that little trick where they lower the front shock in the wishbone a little deeper for more suspension travel. Hopefully I can drop the car low enough so it looks good. But not to low where they blow out. Right now tho they are total blown out so anything would be better. I can almost bounce the rear of the car with my hands off the ground. Ok maybe not but its really bad.

I know what ya mean......I had a 10 year old strut (koni blues) that i finally replaced after they absolutely could not handle any kind of rebound....lol The HP coil overs I had have still held up and I bought those back in 1998.......but the ride quality without the good strut was horrible as hell. I would give people concussions when they rode in the back seat.....ha ha ha now I just give them headaches.

Just keep an eye on ball joints, axles and front/rear LCA bushings.....if any of those go out after you lower it you'll need to raise it back up. Alot of people forget that when you "hellaflush" a vehicle it absolutely F's up the rest of the surrounding parts. I know what you're doing with the suspension, just make sure you aren't sacrificing everything around it.

Ball joints aren't out yet or wheel bearings. The bushing are shot tho. But I have energy suspension bushing that I've been waiting to use on this.

well, if it helps any.............just hit me up and I can help with that. It won't cost you an arm or leg either, specially if you were to take the time to get them off and bring them in.
