I would put it all towards it, but I don't feel like I should be doing too much to the Evo and not make it street drivable. Right now the mirage is just going to be a daily driver until I can come up with the parts. This will probably be a long project.

hell, if you sold it for the $5k, that would pay for a turbo, exhaust, intake, injectors and a tune/dyno run and it would still be streetable. but i get that you want something more DDable. personally, id drop in the 4G, try and make it AWD (although it would be as DDable as your EVO at this point lol) and leave the body the way it is. make it a POS looking sleeper lol but still have it DDable, ya know.

wait, that thing has the 4G64 right? you could swap in the 4G head and turbo it. i believe you can go to about 10 psi before doing internals, but its the same internals that are in a stroker motor. idk, thats just what i would personally do.

Want to sell me the Mirage?

Anyways The Laser, his Mirage isn't a 4G64, its either 1.5 or 1.8. If its a 1.5 it has the 4G15, and if its a 1.8 its a 4G93. Both of which are SOHC.

I say save up and put in a 4G63 only from an EVO4-EVO9. No DSM 4g63 will fit, unless major fabrications are done.

The 4G64 would be a nice swap in. Then he can go stroker from there.

BTW OP I used to own a Mirage, with a EVO4 conversion. I have some left over parts I can
sell to you if you want. I have a EVO4 carbonhood, side skirts, & a EVO 4 front bumper too.

Hell I even some interior Turbo gauges for your car.

true. you could easily find one in a 2000+ eclipse and it would swap in right? as im assuming the cams face the passenger side. if it does, and if i can find it, there was a post about a 4G64 DOHC evo head swap and turboed motor for sale on club3g.com

It's a 4g15. That's a whole 92 HP? Lol ill definitely buy that stuff off you. I want to do the Evo 4 conversion so that sounds perfect. I like the way the evo 4 through 6 look. My 93 mirage had the Evo 1 4g63t with its trans and that raped with out having first gear. Which I'm in the middle of fixing and hopefully in the next week ill be putting it back in it.

Or maybe i could just get people to go with me to Ams in Chicago and have it on a dyno.

nice. sounds like it needs a bigger turbo though lol. you wouldnt happen to know anyone selling a decent priced evo 8 or 9 head would you? im looking for one to do a dual cam swap on my stratus, and need it to be cheap. if its bare, that would be fine, just as long as its cheap and in good condition lol.

Suggestion on the tune for your evo.. go to Modern Automotive Performance in MN. They tuned the evo I had and did a great job. Jordan is their tuner and is a real cool guy. I suggest nabbing a GoFastBits MBC and a fuel pump from JB Auto before you go tune as well.
