too much effort. Lol, nah I hadn't noticed it until after I sprayed the paint. Those little edges peal right off too so I can still get rid of em and make it look clean.

Placing an order for AEM EMS, Innovate wideband, and an oil filter relocation kit today. Need to decide on what turbo manifold to buy and which one of my turbos I'm going to put on the car. Either the Precision or the Turbonetics. Difficult decision to make.

Just a little update. Went over to a buddies house last weekend and tried tig welding for the first time. Its way harder then I expected and nothing like any other type of welding I've done before. However I must say I am happy with my first ever attempted.

I also just got a rear sway bar to help with getting sideways a little bit more. Should help out a lot at higher speeds. Can't wait to put it on the car and give her a test run this weekend.

Got some more work done on the car today. I installed the new sway bar, have yet to drive it and see what it's like, but it's on there lol. The stock one came off super ridiculously easy, none of the the bolts broke and they were rather easy to loosen. The hardest part of taking it off was getting it up and over the exhaust and out from under the car.

Here's a comparison of the stock one to my new one.

From there I went ahead and applied the grease to the new bushings, put the on the bar and got it up in place over the exhaust.

Here is the order in which the end links go together. In between the bushings is where the sway bar goes and the lower control arm.

Putting this new one on was a super bitch to do. The new bushings for the end links are so much stiffer then the old ones that it made it a nightmare to put them on. Getting the top nut to start threading took me a good hour to and then I still had to do the other side. After trying several different ways to get it to go on, I eventually decided that going Super Sayan was the best route and got them on. Here's the completed pics.

Also when tightening up this style of endlink you don't want to over tighten it, what you do is get it to where the bushings start to "bulge"

Now I just gotta wait for the new parts I ordered to show up so I can do some more work.

With plans to enter in the Midwest Drift Union series next year (Formula Drift Pro/AM here in the midwest) I decided it was about time to start taking things seriously. So I hit up my buddy Joe Rosenberger (Street Racer Joe as I call him) from 515 Customs and asked about doing a cage. I received a copy of the Rule book from Formula Drift staff and had looked over the specs on cage requirements. In order to tandem drift (drift with another car) you are required to have door bars, which is something I don't have. I also learned more about this and found out that the cage has to be welded in cannot be a bolt in cage. At first I didn't think much of this, just add the door bars to what I currently have and weld mine in...then I found out that the style half cage I have isn't legal due to the rear support beams not being one peace and the angle support not being welded to the harness bar portion.

So I'm gonna bite the bullet and have a full cage done. This made me quickly realize something...The roll bar is going to be in the way of the stock seat belt, which means for the passenger I'm going to have to get a harness, on top of that I'm not going to use a stock seat with a harness so I had to fork over some more money and buy a passenger seat.

As you'll see the passenger seat I went with is a Sparco Evo II Plus. Which isn't the same the driver seat (Sparco Evo). I did this for 2 reasons. 1 I couldn't find an original Evo seat that matches my driver seat, and 2 I figured it would be a good idea to get a wider seat so you don't have to be a skinny bitch to ride in my car.

Anyway on to the pics.

For rails/brackets I went with the same option as my driver seat. Bride rails which you have to put together...and the instructions are in japanese...luckly I already had one in the car so it was simple to figure out.

And after a good hour of working on it, the seat was installed.

Also I stopped at Gabe's recently and had a nice little carbonfiber vent cover made for me. I don't have it on the car yet, but here's a pic of the test fit. I'll most likely be mounting my air/fuel ratio gauge there so I'll have to cut a hole in it before I go about the perma install.

Now, I wait. My AEM EMS hasn't showed up yet, but will be here soon along withe the Innovate MTX-L wideband.

I'll have another update on the car next week as Joe is going to start on the cage Friday and should have it done by next week.

Put my girlfriend to work and made her help take out my cage. Sucks having to take out a seat I just put in. Going to be dropping the car off tonight, will post updates on the cage later this weekend and mid next week when it's done.

If there were enough cool nissans around that would all come. I don't think there is tho, I cant think of 10 that are local and of the ones I can think of only 2 or 3 would be interested in going to something like that.

Went over to 515 Customs (street racer joe's) to check out the progress on the cage last night. Shit be looking good. Here are a couple photos for everyone.

I really like the way he did the mounting plates, I think they look amazingly awesome.

Main hoop

Front bars

Also when I got home the other day, my new Schroth harness for the passenger side finally showed up in the mail. Becca was so excited she threw it on over her shoulders like she was buckled in.

Just a quick update on the cage. Had some pictures sent to me over the past 3 days of the progress.

Got the dash out so he could start on the forward bars.

Then made the mock up pipe to verify measurments and fitment. All tucked up close to the body. I really like the way it fits.

Yesterday finished up the piping for the back half.

Then I was surprised on Friday by my dad. Went to leave work (I work with him btw) and when we got the parking garage he threw me a set of keys and said I get to drive the white car home. During his lunch break he bought an 06 stage 2 Roush for my mom. Only has 7000 miles on it.

Got to drive it around for the rest of the day, and for those of you who know me I made sure to have my fun with it. Handles amazing with the 275 G-Force tires all around. Plus drifting this thing is so easy I swear a child could do it.

Just a quick update. Door bars are done, now everything is ready to go, just needs welded and painted. More to come, dropped off a set of wheels at Earl's Tire to get some bfg g-force for the front. Knuckles will be modified by the end of the week. Gonna throw those on along with the new lca and tension rods. Then get an alignment and a practice session in before Auto-mass next weekend.

Hey Nick...after that cage is finished...you should spray the interior with some sort of gray color. It would clean up the interior a bit and tie everything together. Not to mention, that subtle "I'm a race car" look.
