Looking to buy an RSX for a daily driver good idea or bad idea? What would you recommend?

What year were you looking at to get? Sounds like a good idea, although if you plan on having it be a DD, the chances of that staying like that will change. You'll want to do some stuff to it at some point.....unless you absolutely have enough will power not to...LOL

Not had any experience with these in the snow....would have to leave this for KYLE D, TURBOREX or my buddy Kevin. Not sure if any of them have driven theirs in the winter but i'm sure someone will give their opinion on them soon.

I fell in love with the newer and last style that came out and really wished Honda would of just kept the damn thing in rotation rather then make it extinct....ohh well!!:thumbsdow:

well, in what sense are they horrible ricky.......give him a little insight on what is wrong with it. I mean if that were the case every car out there would be horrible for him also, give examples and is this the only time you've heard of them being horrible for whatever happened.

Not sure, Im just used to seeing them everyday. They handle horrible when in snow, and they handle horrible if you mod them with junk parts <-- I've seen a lot of ricers ruin their RSX's value due to bad owners etc... To the OP this isn't like a 25 year old civic you see down the street, if you plan to get a type S be prepared to pay to play.

They are fun out of the box though if you plan to use it as a Daily when the seasons right. Definitely not made to drive in the snow but its possible. And the insurance definitely isn't cheap due to being considered a "Sport Compact Vehicle" if the Type S is desired. Other than that if you find a bone stock one I can guarantee 95% of them will not give you a problem mechanically.

Thank you Ricky for clarifying that, makes more sense for him to know what he is up against.
Hopefully more people out there will have more insight on this.

I kinda looked at the photo the core support looks good but also notice it's already got a intake and wheels is the owner one of those kids who beat the crap out of every car they sit in? I would say 5500 would be a fair offer. But always shoot low because they shoot high and probably don't know what it's worth or what to sell it for... Plus cash money talks

Ive owned my RSX for a year now and i havent had any problems with it at all....i love the car...i have a 2002....as someone said earlier insurance is kind of pricy for the type s which is part of the reason why i went with the base and i couldnt find a type s at the time....i have driven mine in pretty heavy snow and have never had a problem with it at all...love the car, i would definatly recommend it

I have a 2003 RSX base 5 spd as a daily. Lowered on neuspeed race springs. I love the car, plenty of power on the highway and still excellent gas mileage. I do drive it in the winter and have never had any problems. PM if you are interested in buying a rsx still.

Idk if you're still lookin for a rsx. I've owned a 02 type s. No problems in the snow whatsoever. Lowered on junk 2 springs. Reliable if modded properly and not beat to hell. Really fun car. Wish I coulda taken it to the track to.compare it to my si. Alas I never got the chance.
