I was suggesting a pair of all season tires just in case he didn't wanna spend money for Rotas and tires. But you can never go wrong with blizzaks if snow tires are.in question.

I compared it to the Bridgestone Blizzak WS70, Continental ExtremeWinterContact, Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D and Genral Altimax Arctic

I went with Nitto NT-SN2

They are studless, dedicated snow and ice tires and closest to the blizzaks. They were also the most affordable.

Size wise, I did 205/50/17. The stockers are 215/45/17's. From what I have read, a little narrower tire is better for winter.

On the drive home, I felt like the wheels were not installed correctly. The car felt like it was on jello. Fast lane changes made the car feel wobbly. This is mainly due to the soft sidewall on the tire, I think. I read about this in the reviews and didn't think much, but its very apparent. This is NOT a performance tire!

The streets that lead up to our home have the snow packed down pretty solid. Its an ice rink. Yesterday on the way back home, at 20 mph, I could not stop and overshot the corner. Even this morning, I had to put-put around the corner. I decided this would be a good test for the tires. From 30 mph, I decided to lay into the brakes - Not VSA light, no ABS pedal pulsation, it stopped. No fuss at all, I am impressed so far. I took a couple of corners faster as well and it does a great job.

Yeh we're here and growing by the day. There are only some rare JDM and specialty items we cannot yet get but eventually we will. ;)

We have acquired all sorts of new brands we will be unleashing sales for in the spring like Function7, Fortune Auto, AST, OHLIN, Rota, Rally Armor, Wiseco and more.

@ the guy with the sn2. Ask nick D. They work great if you don't believe me.I just got some on my friends rsx 05. I drive the car almost every day. Its super smooth. A tiny bit more road noise. The side walls are softer than a performance. Summer tire yes. But right around the same as your all seasons. An there are reason for these. These tires are ment to be in snow. Dry weather isn't the best for them. If the temps are above 40 degrees you are doing harm to them. They suggest that you don't drive on the highway to much with else cause they wear out with the higher heat. An also when they are hot they bead up its harder for them to stop. But this is the same with all WINTER tires. I've had bizzaks. I had the same amount of traction with them. N they lasted just a tiny bit longer. I would say not worth the extra money. The sn2 is a good tire. With all that beening said I've been up to 80-85mph on these tires not one vibration not one real worry. Lane changes are the same if your not jerky about it. Yea you can't turn into a corner at high speeds with out it washing out quite a bit just like a all season. Ill get these tires again an again. But when you only rock them in the right temperatures they will last you many years.

Yep we sure do. We don't have them all on the site yet but we have a few applications loaded.

I don't show them having anything for a 97 Legacy though. :(

Thanks for the vote of confidence - I believe that they will shine in snow and ice - which in my brief testing did on ice-packed roads. I don't plan to use them all year around. Once its warm again (hoping before Easter) they will come off. I drive on 235 since I have no choice but to from work and back, so if they wear out - oh well. I am happy with the purchase for what they need to do. Appreciate your reply!

That's to be expected! Like most upgrades for this car, something for an 02-07 WRX or 04? STi or sometimes gen 4 Legacies ends up being the best candidate.

In regards to the tire choices.........if going with Winter tires, I would personally go with Blizzak WS-70s. They have worked wonders so far. Never had a vibration/speed issue, and unless one deliberately attempts to get loose, they still hug corners pretty well.

I'm not saying bilzzaks are that bad. But nitto are super close to equal. Speed/vibration are in the balancing the installer. Peforms, not so much in the tires these days. If you got the cash to spend go with the bilzzacks but I wouldn't. Just cause I normally am just fine I. All seasons. Winter tires are just a plus.if your driving in the winter it should be your beater.

I compared them to blizzaks allright, but I sprung for the nittos. I think they are real close in performance esp. for the price. After driving it for a week and about 30 miles a day, I am used to it now. Yes, these are on my daily driver, its not a beate per se, but it gets the job done...
